Turkey Breast Cooking Time

Come thanksgiving and the major thing that you do are cooking the turkey. Turkey breast cooking time is the most important thing that you will have to be careful about so that you can be reasonably sure that turkey is cooked from within inside and also make sure that it is juicy and the best to easily carve out also.

But when it comes to turkey cooking there are so many variables that we need to worry about so that the turkey can be cooked correctly.

In general the turkey breast cooking time can vary based on the weight of the turkey and that means the guideline is that if the turkey is 2 to 3 pound then cooking time is 11/2 hours to 2 hours and if the turkey is 4 to 6 pounds then the unstuffed turkey need to be cooked 11/2 to 21/4 hours.

The ultimate thing to be checked is that the breast temperature should be at a temperature of 170 F.

The tip for the turkey coking is that you should bake it in a conventional oven preheated to 325 F. Also the fact is that you should place the turkey in a big enough pan so that air flows in better around the turkey.

Also if you have turkey stuffing then it will take more time for the turkey to be cooked.
Then another fact is a partially frozen turkey will take much more time to cook.

Also make sure that you give three days for a frozen turkey to be thawed.

Always add water to the shallow pan so that you can collect the droppings and those can be applied later to help in the coloring of the turkey.

Use a good thermometer to measure the temperature and if that is not available then you will need to cook the stuffing in the casserole. The thigh temperature is to be 180 Fahrenheit. The other guideline is that if you pierce an unstuffed turkey then you need to see all the clear juices as opposed to pink.

Let the bird stand 20 minutes before removing stuffing and carving.

Make sure to have good turkey recipes with you before you even finalise the menu.
