Unique by the very nature of definition would mean something which is not available in general but it is unique and one and only one as a gift for the baby.

I do not want run of the mill gifts available in the general stores which are full of those standard baby blankets and stuffed animals”.

This is usually what people will never think of as a gift but serves as an absolutely wonderful idea to give as a gift. Though some would think that there no time initially for the portraits and such but that is where your gift would at least force them to show up at the photo studio. The parents will cherish the photo later for years to come.
